The Sandwich area

Sandwich is said to be the most complete medieval town in the country with its maze of narrow streets and high concentration of half-timbered houses. The majority are listed buildings of historical interest.

Sandwich is home to a multitude of eating and drinking spots, a riverside quay and the Lutyens-designed Salutation Gardens. Sandwich Bay and Richborough Roman Fort may be found just outside the town. Historic Canterbury is within easy reach, as are the seaside towns of Deal, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Margate and Dover.
